Weddings

Let's get this party started!

The days of waiting for the ceremony to be over and for the fun to begin are long gone! For me the celebration starts at your ceremony, and I mean it when I say this, I love EVERYTHING about weddings!

No matter how many I do I never tire of hearing couples’ stories and working with them to create their perfect wedding ceremony. Whatever that might look like!

It is important for you to know that love always wins around here, and in Scotland I am fully authorised (subject to the correct paperwork being submitted) to legally solemnise a marriage between any two consenting adults who are of sound mind, and who align with the Fulcrum Foundation belief that:

“Marriage is a lifelong connection between two people whose values are based on equality, common purpose, tolerance and compassion”.

If you are thinking, but TJ what does that actually mean for us as a couple in our day to day lives…

Let’s dive a little deeper and break it down…

First off, love is like the spark that ignites the firework show of marriage—it’s what gets the party started and keeps it going long after the last firecracker has fizzled out. Without love, marriage would be like a rom-com without the romantic climax—seriously lacking in the feel-good department!

Next up, equality is like the dynamic duo in marriage—it’s all about sharing the spotlight, splitting the chores, and making decisions together like a boss. Because in marriage, there’s no room for power struggles or one-sided dominance— yup that’s right we’re in this together, folks!

Now, let’s talk about common purpose—well…it’s like the GPS that guides us on our marital adventure. When we share a common purpose with our partner, whether it’s building a home, raising a family, or conquering the world, we’re unstoppable! Plus, who doesn’t love having a co-pilot on this crazy journey called life?

And let’s not forget about tolerance and compassion—they’re like the secret sauce that makes everything taste better. Tolerance helps us navigate the quirks, idiosyncrasies, and occasional weird habits of our partners without losing our cool. And compassion? Well, it’s like the warm hug at the end of a long day—it’s comforting, reassuring, and reminds us that we’re never alone.

So there you have it, love, equality, common purpose, tolerance, and compassion are the ultimate dream team in marriage. Keep the love alive, embrace your differences, chase your dreams together, and always remember to lend a helping hand to our partner along the way!

So if this sounds like a bit of you and your relationship, I think I might be the right celebrant for you.

As always if you have any questions or queries on our value or ethos at Fulcrum Celebrants we are always happy to have a blether (because let’s face it talking about all things love, weddings and marriage is our absolute favourite!)

If that sounds like who you are as a couple…. well, it would be my absolute honour and privilege to marry you both!

The Legal Paperwork and Information

Warning, this bit is very important!

I am authorised by the general registrar through Fulcrum Celebrants to solemnise your marriage on the day of your wedding. HOWEVER, you must submit your notice to marry to the local registry office where your venue is (and not where you live if that varies).

Notices can be submitted between 12 weeks to 29 days prior to your wedding date and the documentation that you will be required to submit will vary depending on your circumstances.

We strongly recommend not leaving this to the last available minute. No legal wedding can take place without the submission of the correct paperwork. In some cases, you may need to make and attend an appointment at a registry office so please think ahead. This should defiantly be a priority on your to-do list!

The link below will to take you to the place you need to be to collate the correct paperwork. I highly recommend talking to the registry office with any queries you might have first as they are the experts. There are other things that you will have to do/think about with this, but I will always be on hand, and we will discuss this in full when you book.

Pricing

I believe in full transparency with no hidden costs, so I have outlined wedding ceremony services costs below.  Please just get in touch if you have any questions or queries on this.  All ceremonies secured before this date and in my diary will be honoured at the price quoted on securing your booking.  If you are unsure about any of the following just message me or pick up the phone.

Weddings

From £695

This includes all admin, conversations, meetings, script creation and attendance on your wedding day.

Travel is the only exception. If you are within a 50-mile return radius that will be included in the standard price. Extra mileage is charged at 50p per mile so please message me with your venue/location for an exact quotation. An Additional travel fee may also be applicable. In the rare event that overnight accommodation is required due to distance/location, this will also need to be factored into the overall quote.

Elopements

From £695

As with "Weddings", includes all admin, conversations, meetings, script creation and attendance on your wedding day.

I am happy to trek to the top of a mountain or the bottom of your chosen valley regardless of the Scottish weather! However again please note prices will vary depending on your location and travel, so please contact me first with your specifications and I will happily give you an exact quote.

Renewal of Vows

From £695

This is a very similar service to a wedding.

Includes all admin, conversations, meetings, script creation and attendance on your date.

Travel is the only exception. If you are within a 50-mile return radius that will be included in the standard price. Extra mileage is charged at 50p per mile so please message me with your venue/location for an exact quotation. In the rare event that overnight accommodation is required due to distance/location, this will also need to be factored into the overall quote.

Securing your Booking

A 25% non-refundable booking fee via BACS and completed booking form will be required to secure your wedding date. The remaining non-refundable balance will be required to be paid in full 12 weeks before your wedding date.

If your wedding is postponed for any reason within 12 weeks of your balance being paid, wherever possible I will endeavour to accommodate your new date. However, this cannot be guaranteed.

Cancelled weddings with 12 weeks or less to go will be charged at full original cost with no refund. If payment is not made in full by 10 weeks your date will cancelled, and your booking fee will not be refunded.

In the very unlikely case that I have to cancel your booking you will be refunded the full 100% fee, and I will help source another celebrant if required. If I am unable to make it on your wedding day (aka I’m dying or deed!) Fulcrum Celebrants will endeavour to send out another amazing celebrant within our team with your agreed and signed off script.

On a side note, I highly recommend all my couples take out wedding insurance to cover all aspects of your wedding. If Covid taught us anything it is that we never know what the future might hold!

Can we pay all upfront? No. 12 weeks is the earliest you can make your final payment. This keeps it simple just in case anything changes on your side.
